Todo sobre las nominaciones a los OSCARS 2016

A pocos minutos nomás de conocerse la triste noticia del fallecimiento del actor británico Alan Rickman a causa de un cáncer, los directores Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Life of Pi) y nuestro amigo Guillermo del Toro (El Laberinto del Fauno, Crimson Peak) fueron los encargados de la primera parte de la ceremonia en el Samuel Goldwyn Theater, en Beverly Hills, donde se dieron a conocer las nominaciones a la 88ª entrega de los premios de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas. Los Oscars, bah. Luego fue el turno de la Presidenta de la Academia Cheryl Boone Isaacs y del actor John Krasinski (The Office), quienes completaron la transmisión en vivo.

¿Listo? ¿Terminamos? Entonces ahora sí, ¡pasemos al análisis!

La primera pregunta que surge siempre es: "¿Cuál es la que tiene más nominaciones?". La respuesta es la esperada por todos: The Revenant, con 12 nominaciones. Le siguen Mad Max: Fury Road con 10 (¡vamoooo'!) y The Martian, con 7.

Pero vayamos a lo más interesante. La polémica: ¿quiénes se quedaron afuera?

Para empezar, sorprende que Ridley Scott no esté nominado como Mejor Director. Como dijimos recién, su film, The Martian, es una de las películas con más nominaciones. Aún así, Scott ni figura.

El otro que lo mira por TV es Quentin Tarantino: su esperada (y excelente) The Hateful Eight quedó excluida de algunas importantes categorías en las que, cuanto menos, asumíamos iba a estar nominada. Pero no fue así: ni Mejor Película, ni Mejor Director, ni Mejor Guión Adaptado para Quentin esta vez.

¿Y qué pasó con Aaron Sorkin? Es otro que se quedó afuera de la nominación por Mejor Guión Adaptado, por Steve Jobs. Y eso que fue el ganador el Domingo pasado en los Golden Globes.

Otra cosa: ¿se dieron cuenta que son todos caucásicos los nominados como Mejor Actor (protagónico o de reparto)? Es el segundo año consecutivo donde se da esta situación. Muchos críticos apostaban que Benicio del Toro (Sicario), Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation), Will Smith (Concussion) o Michael B. Jordan (Creed) podían figurar en alguna de las categorías actorales. Pero nop. Todos blanquitos. ¿Se repetirá el hashtag del año pasado, #OscarsSoWhite?

Quien también se quedó afuera de una nominación actoral es el pequeño Jacob Tremblay, de tan sólo 9 años, por su descollante labor en Room. Hubiera sido algo muy significativo (y merecido) que lo nominen al chico.

En fin... la 88ª entrega de los premios Oscars, conducida por Chris Rock, se llevará a cabo el Domingo 28 de Febrero, en el Dolby Theater, Hollywood.

Por supuesto, La Cuarta Pared ya está sacando los pasajes. Pero por las dudas, si a eso de las 22 hs., ven que no llegamos, que Chris arranque con la ceremonia nomás.
